This project is a commission by two lovely occupational therapists. When children are starting out on occupational therapy it is important to explain and clarify the individual needs of each patient. Therefore I designed 48 illustrations showing children and parents what is important during therapy.

The illustrated cards are clustered into different groups, depending on the topics to be addressed in therapy. Wether children need help with mobility, tasks in school, connection with other children or adults, every important aspect of occupational therapy is included in this project.

Working on this project was a lot of fun, since each child illustrated has a name and interacts with his or her friends throughout the illustration. In my head I was forming a backstory for every child. Important in the process of creating those illustrated cards was to include a vast diversity amongst the children. Not only different nationalities and ethnic backgrounds, but also a variety of body shapes and handy caps can be found within the illustrations, making the children in action even more unique.
