Feal is an application for your smartphone, designed and developed to support the healing journey of ankle injuries. The app accompanies each patient individually and is integrated into physiotherapy.
I was part of an amazing team of designers with different focuses on design. Illustrators, graphic designer, communication designer, media and interaction designer as well as product designer worked together to create the Feal App. We collaborated with the faculty of sports science at the Muenster University, physiotherapists and ITs.
For the design-team it was important to create a functional but appealing design, which is easy to understand and follow but also keeps the user engaged into their healing process. Experimenting with different color schemes, forms, patterns got us to a consistent look and feel of the app.
Despite working on the overall visual appearance of the app, our team was working on the wireframes, creating a first walkthrough of the app. The ITs were able to program the app afterwards.
Next to an onboarding (welcoming the patient in the app and giving an overview over his weekly progress) Feal offers information on everything about ankle injuries.
The most important part of Feal however is the section on exercises. The user can select a specific exercise which will be explained to him in detail. The audio function makes it easier to follow the exercise and the avatar shows what the patient needs to do.
